Last week I had posted a series of logo parodies “honest logos” by Swedish graphic designer Viktor Hertz attempting to show how popular brands are perceived by consumer. The brands like Coke and Pepsi have undoubtedly become a household name. All these companies had to start somewhere, one of most important factor when starting a company is coming up with a name for it.
The idea of coming up with company name looks simple, but if you have not been in brainstorming session trying to name a product , you really do not know precisely how difficult it is. We as consumers never give a thought to it, but it is vital component of branding process.
The story behind naming a company can be pretty simple or complex. The name can be based upon founder’s name, place of operation or based on properties of components used in manufacturing and many more. Here is how some of the biggest companies in world got their names and stories behind it.
