The concept of flat design got popular way back in 2007 with launch of Microsoft’s Zune and now and its back with full strength this year, creating interesting buzz around the so called “flat design” . The concept of Flat design is not brand new, something that got created now as a response to other design movements. Flat design has been around before and only now it has started appearing almost everywhere. Flat designing is a straightforward approach to designs, which doesn’t use the three dimensional attributes like – shadows, gradients, bevels etc. It doesn’t necessarily mean flat design has no effects at all, it just implies that it doesn’t use effects for creating depth along with dimension. It focuses on typography, use of solid colors and simpler use of UI elements.
